- In order to be considered for financial aid, your application needs to be received at least 1 week before the end of registration and you must be registered with SVSC through GotSport (https://system.gotsport.com/) and pay a minimum of 1/2 the registration fee for any given season (the maximum allowed scholarship per season is a 50% discount and does not include uniforms)
- Financial assistance is available, based on individual necessity, for all eligible players participating in the Sun Valley Soccer Club. Please complete the information requested in detail. We encourage athletes to raise money to cover fees by asking family members, friends, or businesses to sponsor you before, or in addition to, requesting assistance from the Club as we have limited funds available for these scholarships.
VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
- Athletes may be eligible for scholarship funding to help with UP TO half of the club fees. To verify your athlete’s eligibility please provide a statement explaining the reason for need and indicate: what would your previous coaches and teammates say about you (your child) as a person and player
- One application per athlete with letter of need
- Families who meet financial eligibility guidelines may be considered eligible for scholarship funding (UP TO half the membership fees). Families that do not meet financial eligibility guidelines but that demonstrate extenuating circumstances may be considered separately for scholarship funding up to half the membership fees. To be considered, a brief written description of the extenuating circumstances must be included with this application
- Completed Scholarship applications must be submitted one week before the registration deadline or the athlete’s fees will not be considered paid in full; regardless of whether the family has paid their portion. Athletes that are not paid in full will not be considered for roster spots unless there are too few athletes for an age group. Should that be the case, late applications may be considered at the discretion of SVSC staff
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT CONTRACT
SVSC awards scholarships in the hope that through participation in this organization athletes will learn a variety of skills, including; responsibility, commitment, leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, and soccer skills and development. To promote the development of these skills this scholarship is awarded on the condition that each recipient and their parent(s) commit to each of the following conditions:
- The athlete/parents must be available to line/set fields, assemble goals and assist with general set-up for season practices, exchanges, games and tournaments hosted by the Sun Valley Soccer Club. The time commitment for these activities will be on evenings and weekends. There must be a full commitment of both the athlete and parent(s) to their team; including participation in all team activities (practices, tournaments, games, fundraisers, etc…).
- If the recipient chooses to quit participating (team obligations &/or volunteer hours) for any reason, other than injury or relocation to an area outside the Wood River Valley, he/she shall not be eligible for scholarship funds from this club during any subsequent season.
- The scholarship recipient’s fees must be paid in full by the registration deadline, unless other payment arrangements have been made with the club Registrar. Recipients not fulfilling this commitment will forfeit all scholarship monies and be required to pay a late fee if they are a returning member (this may be waived by the board for athletes added after the registration deadline if circumstances warrant the addition of members at that point).
